Business Plan Competition for Taiwan's Net-Zero Technology. Open to all Stanford students!

Why Participate?

Taiwan has a high-tech economy with a vibrant manufacturing sector that is ideal for testing out new technologies and bringing them to market.
This competition gives students access to Taiwan’s leading energy researchers as well as to Taiwan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Learn about the unique energy challenges facing Taiwan and some of the innovative solutions that are being developed.
Even more importantly, help build a business case to take these technologies out of the lab and into production.
In short, this competition gives students a unique learning opportunity to work with emerging energy technologies in a whole new market.
While the focus is on Taiwan, the ideas and solutions you develop will be useful anywhere in the world.

Awards & Opportunities

1. Awards (per team)
The competition offers three tiers of monetary prizes:
1st place: $10K + Taiwan trip
2nd place: $5K + Taiwan trip
3rd place: $3K + Taiwan trip
4~6th place: $1K

Work with leading Net Zero energy technologies in a part of the world with unique geographic advantages and challenges
Gain international experience working in a high-tech Asian economy
Work alongside Taiwan's top researchers

Jan. 9 - Feb. 13, 2026 – Information Session every Friday
February 20, 2026 – Business plan and video deadline
March 2, 2026 – First round (top 6 winners) announced
March 21 - 22, 2026 – Top 3 teams travel to Taiwan
March 23 - 26, 2026 – Meeting, training, field trip
March 27, 2026 – Final presentation and award ceremony
March 28, 2026 – Return to California
